Get Moving, Get Fit!

One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2015 was to do something about my health and stamina. It was getting harder and harder for me to breathe, I felt almost always tired, I kept waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air. Being allergic to the most common of things, dust (among others), which happily triggered my asthma, wasn't helping the situation. I had every reason to get off my ass and do something about it. I wanted to start feeling good again. I wanted to get fitter. I wanted to take a stand if you will. So what did I do? I went shopping! *wide grin*

Yes, like every woman out there, I always welcome an opportunity to shop. It makes me feel better and in this case it boosted my motivation levels higher. Let me explain further. After deciding to jump back on the fitness bandwagon I had an hour session at home following a regime I found on the internet, only a bit toned down because of my asthma. During that time I had to stop quite a few times, not because I was tired but because I either lacked some of the equipment needed (hand/ankle weights and a yoga mat being the two most important) or because I was hindered by the clothes I was wearing. I went for a look-see online and I may have ordered a couple more things, but that's another post!

For now let's go take a look at my current purchases.

The first outfit is from H&M Sport. It's a figure fitted mint green tank top with a racer back and black marl ankle length sports tights. You could easily call it a yoga outfit. I chose these two because:
A) I really like them,
B) They flatter my figure a lot,
C) They're incredibly comfortable.

The second outfit comes from Primark. It's more of a running outfit in comparison to the previous one, but again it's amazingly comfortable. Another form fitted tank top, this time a black and white patterned one with some neon yellow/green accents on the inside. The pair of black bottoms that go with it have the same accents, along with a wide line on both sides of the trousers that bear the same pattern with the top.

Primark's sports range isn't limited on clothes thankfully, there are also affordable solutions for gym equipment as well. I made sure to buy a yoga mat, a set of hand weights and a skipping rope and will be going back to get a gym ball as well. They are good quality, affordable to every budget and give you the opportunity to properly exercise at home if you don't have access to any local gyms or can't afford a subscription right now. In my case it's neither of those reasons, I'm just not happy with the gyms within walking distance in the surrounding area, so for now I prefer the comfort of my own home.

I decided to close this post by sharing with you a bit of information about me that may (or not) surprise you.
There used to be a time when I was fit and full of energy. A time when my muscles were really strong and I could weightlift. No, I'm not kidding you, I used to be a weight lifter when I was younger. It was only for a couple of years and back then it helped me deal with the emotional instability a teenager usually goes through. It was something I really enjoyed too, so imagine how I felt when I was forced to stop because my knees and wrists decided to betray me. It was a sad day indeed.

Do you have a similar goal for 2015? Would you like to share your New Year's Resolutions? Just leave a comment. And don't forget...

Until next time,

Dora
