Supporting a Cause - Unicef

I really can't remember how old I was when I had my first contact with UNICEF. I know I was so young I couldn't read or write, but was fascinated by the beautiful Christmas cards my mum had purchased to decorate our hallway and send to friends and family for the customary holiday wishes.
Ever since, and it's been over twenty years now, my family has been purchasing all sorts of paraphernalia in order to support the cause that is UNICEF, so I thought I should introduce the cause to you and do my part in helping spread the word and hopefully the help too.
At this point I want to clear out that I'm not affiliated, I'm writing this article because I believe in what they do and that is helping the children of the whole world.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is a United Nations Program that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. It is one of the members of the United Nations Development Group and its Executive Committee.
UNICEF was created by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1953, UNICEF became a permanent part of the United Nations System and its name was shortened from the original United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund but it has continued to be known by the popular acronym based on this previous title.
It relies on contributions from governments and private donors, having programs emphasizing on the development of community level services to promote the health and well-being of children.

Now that we're done with general information, let's get down to the really important stuff. Why am I writing this post, why you should help this cause and how.

First of all, the reason why I'm writing this post. I truly believe in giving all the help I can through any means I personally have. The children are the future of this world and it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to protect and help them. They need medical help, vaccinations, shelters, food and water. They need someone to be there for them and if by buying a small something here and there or paying a small sum each month I help add to that, then I'll gladly do so. Especially now, with all the bloodshed happening at Gaza, there couldn't be a better reason as to why support an organization that actively helps children.
Now, isn't obvious why you should help them too?
As for the how, go to UNICEF's official site, choose your country of residence and then pick which campaign you want to help fund. There are many different campaigns and ways to help. You can donate money straight away, or pay a small sum every month (kind of a subscription). You can buy things for yourself or for gifts from their store (that's what my family has opted for) or even become a "foster" parent to a child and cover for its needs. You pick. Either way, you're helping and that's what matters.

I will close this post with a song and the hope there is still good out there in the world.

"Think about the generations and say we want to make it a better place for our children and our children's children so that they know it's a better world for them..."
